An in-house processor can be tuned around software, battery life, camera systems and AI features in ways that off-the-shelf components cannot always match.

The trade-off is cost and execution risk. Chip design requires deep engineering teams, long lead times and manufacturing partners capable of producing at the most advanced nodes.
